Boron 0.5 creates a chat room that exists only while people are in it. Messages are end-to-end encrypted in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and when the room ends the room and everything about it is deleted. No account, no chat history, no files.
Keys are generated in your browser and never leave it. The server holds no message content at any point.
No chat history, no inbox, no file storage. Messages live only in the tabs of the people in the room.
When the last participant leaves, the room and its coordination records are deleted. Nothing remains to hand over.
No signup and no profile. You get a room with an invite link and a lifetime you choose — 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 4 hours. The invite is only ever stored as a hash.
Participants exchange public keys and derive a fresh key per message. Keys are generated in your browser and never leave it; the server relays ciphertext it cannot read.
Rooms expire at their chosen lifetime, and can only be extended with the other party's agreement. When the room ends, its records are deleted and your keys are wiped from memory.
The server exists to introduce two devices to each other — not to keep a record that they met. Here is the full list of what it touches.
Boron 0.5 installs as a progressive web app on iOS, Android and desktop — same zero-retention rooms, launched from your home screen in one tap. Installing changes nothing about the security model: nothing is cached between rooms.
Install Boron 0.5→Operational monitoring is aggregate-only — service health, never room or participant detail. The full privacy and data-retention statement spells out every field the server touches and when it is destroyed.
Privacy & retention statement→Free, forever open to everyone. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
